One of the strongest weapons that players have against Elden Ring’s bosses are Spirit Ashes, unique items that summon ghostly NPCs and monsters to fight alongside them. Each Spirit Ash has its own strengths and weaknesses, with Black Knife Tiche being one of the best at taking on a wide range of targets.

Where to Find Black Knife Tiche Ashes in Elden Ring

As one of the most powerful Spirit Ashes, Black Knife Tiche is found late in Elden Ring’s story, and is only available after players have progressed a significant way through Ranni’s quest. Specifically, players must have defeated Astel Naturalborn of the Void, and gained access to the Moonlight Altar region.

In the northwest corner of Moonlight Altar is the Ringleader’s Evergaol, home to Alecto the Black Knife Ringleader.

This is one of the toughest of Elden Ring’s Evergaols, but players must defeat Alecto in order to gain the Black Knife Tiche Ashes. The Ringleader’s Evergaol doesn’t allow co-op play or Spirit Ash summoning, so players will have to take on Alecto alone.

She is immune to Bleed, Poison, Scarlet Rot, and Death, but can be Frostbitten. As quick and nimble as the other Black Knife members, Alecto is a tricky fight for both melee and ranged characters.

Players should always be ready to dodge her long-range Blade of Death, and completely avoid her jumping attack that ends with a burst of black energy.

Defeating Alecto will automatically reward players with the Black Knife Tiche Ashes.

Black Knife Tiche Strengths and Weaknesses

Black Knife Tiche is one of the best Spirit Ashes in Elden Ring, and one of the few that can compete with the legendary Mimic Tear.

Although she doesn’t have much health, she is very quick to dodge, and can easily evade and flank most smaller bosses. These hit-and-run tactics are less effective against larger bosses, as any wide swings or large AoE attacks may catch her despite her dodges.

On the offensive side, Black Knife Tiche can do some decent damage with her basic attacks, but her real strength is in her Blade of Death. This mid-range attack generates a fast-moving projectile that deals damage over time as a percentage of the enemy’s total HP.

This makes Tiche a great pick against bosses with high resistances or massive HP bars, and the damage stacks with the Black Blade Incantation.

Unfortunately, Black Knife Tiche’s powerful abilities come at a huge 132FP cost to summon, meaning that Elden Ring builds that have low Mind won’t be able to get her on the field at all.

Elden Ring is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
